Chef Proprietor, Steven Ellis, has spent the last 10 years developing his skills at some of the top restaurants in the country. A large portion of his career has been working under Clare Smyth MBE, at Royal Hospital Road, London. Steven uses French cooking techniques however his food carries a heavy English influence which was born during his time working with Andrew Pern at the Star Inn, North Yorkshire.
Steven works very closely with his senior management team, husband and wife Daniel Crump and Margriet Vandezande-Crump. Daniel, General Manager at The Oxford Blue, trained at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay under renowned maitre’d, Jean-Claude Breton whilst Margriet, Restaurant Manager worked at Trinity restaurant in Clapham later assuming the position of Assistant Restaurant Manager at Petrus in Knightsbridge, London.
