The Oxford Blue Team
Prior to opening the Oxford Blue Steven Ellis, the Chef Proprietor, spent 10 years developing his skills at some of the top restaurants in the country. During that time a large portion of his career was working under Clare Smyth MBE, at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, London. Steven’s food carries a heavy English influence which was born during his time working with Andrew Pern at the Star Inn, North Yorkshire. While there he also met Ami, his Head Pastry Chef (and, more importantly, his wife). Ami brings an artistic flair to her dishes and Ami’s skills complement Steven’s.
Steven works very closely with his senior management team, husband and wife Daniel Crump and Margriet Vandezande-Crump. Daniel, our General Manager at The Oxford Blue, trained at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay under renowned maitre’d, Jean-Claude Breton whilst Margriet, our Restaurant Manager, worked at Trinity Restaurant in Clapham, later assuming the position of Assistant Restaurant Manager at Pétrus in Knightsbridge, London.
