We are often asked for details on the delights that await you at The Oxford Blue. Here you can browse through a selection of tasty treats.

Tea

Classic

In 1999, it was settled that the finest Assam tea would be imported to compliment Tregothnan’s original China-type leaves, and to create the most authentic breakfast blend ever. Exclusive and hand-plucked, our Classic Tea is not a novelty – it is a blend for serious tea drinkers.

As Bernard-Paul Heroux put it so perfectly, “There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea.”

A delicious blend of hand-plucked Cornish Tea from Tregothnan and the finest Assam Tea from India. This tea is dairy free, gluten free, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Infuse for 2 to 4 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea – we recommend 3 minutes of infusion time before pouring.

Remove the infuser – the leaves will have expanded to three times their original size. If you would like further cups once the teapot is empty, simply replace the infuser with the same tea leaves and add more water.

Classic Tea can be served with or without milk and sweetened with honey or sugar to taste.

Earl Grey

200 years after Prime Minister Earl Grey enjoyed this wonderful blend, his direct descendant (Lord Falmouth is the eighth great grandson of Sir Charles Grey) has created the ultimate tribute. US tea blogger Geoffrey Norman recently raved about Tregothnan’s “perfect Earl Grey,” which he described as “the most British Earl Grey. Ever.”

Tregothnan’s Earl Grey is simply infused with pure, natural Bergamot oil – it is both invigorating and uplifting, yet subtle and sophisticated.

Perfect hot with a slice of lemon, iced on a summer’s day, or blended with gin or vodka for a tinglingly good Earl Grey Martini.

A premium blend of Cornish tea from Tregothnan, the finest Assam from India, and a natural Citrus Bergamia oil. This tea is dairy free, gluten free, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Infuse for 2 to 4 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea – we recommend at least 3 minutes of infusion time before pouring. Whole leaves take a little longer to steep, but the short wait is well worth it.

Earl Grey is usually served without milk but a splash can be added. Ideal with a slice of lemon, you can also sweeten it with honey or sugar to taste.

Afternoon Tea

The first tea grown in England, Tregothnan’s Afternoon Tea is hand-picked on their estate in Cornwall and blended with the Champagne of teas, Darjeeling. This is the most quintessentially British beverage.

Green Tea

Tregothnan Green Tea ticks all the boxes – it is rich in health benefits as well as having an incredible flavour.

Tregothnan tea grows in inimitable conditions and is from the same type of bushes as those from which Green Tea was first discovered in China. The process of creating black teas varies here, as oxidisation is replaced by steaming so the fresh leaves retain their natural green colour.

A devoted drinker recently said: “Tregothnan Green Tea is not bitter like others that I’ve tried – I have to say it is the best I’ve ever tasted!”

Green tea contains powerful antioxidants that help fight illness plus nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. It can relieve the feeling of fatigue, boost the immune system, reduce cholesterol levels, and reports show that it can also help you lose weight. It also removes toxins from the body naturally and safely.

Infuse for 2 to 4 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea – we recommend at least 3 minutes of infusion time before pouring. Whole leaves take a little longer to brew, but the short wait is well worth it.

Remove the infuser – the leaves will have expanded to three times their original size.

Green Tea is usually served without milk. You can also sweeten it with honey or sugar to taste.

Manuka Tea Herbal Infusion

Exclusive to Tregothnan, their Manuka tea herbal infusion has a distinctively sweet spicy flavour. Grown at Tregothnan since it was first introduced from New Zealand in the 1800s, bees feed on this pretty bush to make Manuka honey. Manuka bushes are celebrated for their antibacterial properties used both internally and externally, and are even used by nurses to dress wounds.

Nettle Tea Herbal Infusion

From the Tregothnan gardens in Cornwall, their Nettle tea herbal infusion is refreshing, aromatic, nutritious, and cleansing, with a fresh natural sweetness and richness. Considered the healthiest tea of all, it is full of nutrients including vitamin A and C, zinc, iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium and silica.

Chamomile Tea Herbal Infusion

Tregothnan’s Chamomile tea herbal infusion is a relaxing, caffeine-free infusion – golden yellow in colour with a sweet, earthy apple taste and aroma. Grown and picked on the Tregothnan estate, this plant is a mild sedative, it is fabulous to drink at night to encourage a better quality sleep.

Peppermint Tea Herbal Infusion

This refreshing and cleansing Peppermint tea infusion uses whole peppermint leaves from Tregothnan. With its super menthol powers that aid digestion, prevent nausea, beat stress, tackle headaches, relieve heartburn, soothe muscle aches, and ease asthma, this infusion is clean, clear and naturally caffeine free. Enjoy this intensely flavoursome tea as an after-dinner digestif.

Lemon Verbena Tea Herbal Infusion

Tregothnan’s Lemon Verbena tea herbal infusion is one of Tregothnan’s best-selling tea infusions, this tisane is made from cut Lemon Verbena leaves to give a wonderfully rich lemon scent and piquant taste when infused. Zingy, zesty, fresh and subtly spicy with a tangy bite, this tisane is the perfect after-dinner digestif.

Red Berry Tea Herbal Infusion

Tregothnan’s red berry tea infusion includes strawberries and raspberries from their Kent estate, apples from their Cornish orchards, English marigolds, and pretty blue cornflowers. Surprisingly complex with an intense red colour to match its punchy taste, this bright infusion is perfect for thirsty summer days. The zingy fruit flavours balance perfectly with fresh floral notes for a rich palate.
